A1’s Goals: Save time and make efficiencies in their business
A1 Great Deals is a beauty retailer from Florida, owned by husband-and-wife team, Mike and Sheila Truffa. They have five employees running their 100% fulfilled-by-merchant business.
Their main goal when moving to Veeqo was to create time saving efficiencies in their business by having everything in one piece of software.

How A1 Great Deals got started
A1 Great Deals started their business from their home in 2015. Owner Mike Truffa was an operations manager for an airplane repair company, and when his wife Sheila started couponing and re-selling the products on eBay, he realized they could turn it into something bigger.
The problem came when they were having to drive to dozens of different stores to source the products, so they turned to liquidation sites and wholesalers, which were a common occurance in the Florida area due to it being a hub for exporting to Latin America.
The couple started small with boxes, gradually scaling to purchasing pallets of products, and then truckloads, before leasing their first small warehouse space in 2017. But soon they were running out of space, and were having to store huge amounts of inventory in their family home in addition to the small warehouse.
A house fire changed everything
In summer 2019, the couple sadly experienced a devastating house fire that not only destroyed their family home, but a large amount of their inventory too. But like many sellers, COVID-19 changed everything for them.
They moved into a rental home after the fire while they decided what to do next, and when COVID-19 exploded their business, with sales soaring they decided to put all of the insurance money from the fire into the business.
It was the best decision they could have made, and the investment meant they grew the business to over 5000 SKUs and over 6000 shipments a week by 2024.
Finding Veeqo helped A1 Great Deals grow further and quicker
In 2022, Mike wanted to create efficiencies in the business so they could scale the business further. He came across Veeqo, and searching for an all-in-one solution, he decided to move away from ShipStation and Ecomdash, where he was paying nearly $1000 per month for both pieces of software. Veeqo on the other hand is completely free, and as Mike says, “$1000 a month is a $1000 a month, that’s a lot of money.”
Talking about how Veeqo’s inventory management features to their previous software, Mike told us, “The inventory in my personal opinion is much better than Ecomdash was, and it’s a lot easier to do. Once you get to know how it works and understanding the difference between listings and products and doing all that, it's a much superior product.”
How A1 Great Deals saves 6-hours per day
When Mike showed us around their warehouse in Tampa, Florida, we could see for ourselves just how important the inventory-side of Veeqo is to them as a business. Their 10,000 sq ft warehouse is packed from floor to ceiling with rows of shelving and products, and Mike tells us that they’re searching for a larger space as boxes and product overflow into their office space.
Mike explains how Veeqo’s batch printing feature has had the biggest time saving impact on his business: “Ever since we’ve been able to print 100 labels at a time with packing slips, it’s saved hours of time a day.” he goes on to say “On the amount of shipments we’re doing right now, I would have been printing labels way past 5pm, starting at 9am. It would take all day.”
He continued, “Being able to sort by SKU is wonderful because before I would have to look up each individual SKU if there were a lot of them, or I would have to print them all and then hand-sort them, because there was no good way to get the labels together. And to have to go through them one-by-one, it was just time consuming, especially when you’re doing some 700 orders per day.”
Mike goes on to tell us it now only takes him two-hours to print all of his labels and packing slips, a time reduction of 75%, leaving him with an extra six hours per day to complete other business tasks.
They can’t live without the Veeqo Scanner
Mike also invested in the Veeqo Scanner after experiencing a lot of mispicks and misshipments from using picklists. He purchased a handful of the scanners after their launch at Amazon Accelerate in 2023, and says “I personally use it [the Veeqo Scanner] religiously, I can’t live without it.”
While A1 Great Deals are hoping to move to a larger space soon so they can invest in more inventory and properly lay out their shelves and bins, Mike said his top advice for other sellers is to make sure you have your warehouse properly organized. Having barcodes and proper labels on the shelves and bins allows you to get the maximum potential out of the scanners.
When talking about the money they’ve saved with Veeqo so far, Mike stresses that for him, “It saves a lot more than that though, when you look at the time saved, especially with all of the improvements that have happened over the past couple of months. Just myself I save a good six hours a day that allows me to do other things. The faster I can get labels out to them and get stuff done, the more time and the faster they can get shipping and they’re not waiting for me.”

Veeqo Credits has been huge for A1 Great Deals
Because the majority of A1 Great Deals’ products are beauty and skincare, they ship almost everything with USPS Ground Advantage. Mike loves the fact that USPS pick-up directly from his warehouse, rather than him having to take all of his shipments to the carrier (taking your orders to the carrier is no easy feat with 700+ orders a day), and he finds they have the cheapest rates for what he ships.
